Natasha is introduced into the story in book 19 as Tom's partner and friend in the CIA. They slowly get together and, although George tries to warn him that very little is actually known about Natasha, he still starts to fall in love with her. When he needs to leave on a job for the CIA, Gaia is left with Natasha and Tatiana in their apartment. Mortified that her father has left her once again, she immediately hates Natasha.

Later, when we find out that George has been planting seeds of doubt about Natasha in Gaia and Tom's minds by order of Loki, but has been lying, the readers think that Natasha is a good guy. But she isn't working for Loki; she's working for Yuri. Gaia hears George admitting to Loki that he was lying and starts to trust Natasha, a big mistake.

Gaia later finds a gun, sniper-style, in their apartment. This is after Tatiana has told Gaia that her mother was not a bad person and Gaia is crushed but not disappointed. Deep down she knew that she should never have trusted them and kicks herself for it. Natasha and Tatiana later come after Gaia because she found out and try to kill her, but Gaia had led them into a setup under surveilence of the CIA and she and Tatiana were arrested. After she has to save her father and bring him back from Siberia, she is forced to tell him that Natasha betrayed him, something that she knew a daughter should never have to do.
